![]() So, when Capcom announced the Resident Evil 2 remake a few years ago, I was ecstatic to finally play the games that had evaded me for so long. Granted, I knew the basic story from the novelizations, but never got the chance to play them myself. The inconsistencies with Carlos are actually her mind becoming weaker and weaker just before her death.Anyways, because I came to the series relatively late and never owned a PlayStation One, the two series entries that always evaded me were Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. She has accepted her fate and she's no longer afraid, so she can leave this world. The departure and destruction of the city is her dying due to virus. Defeating him in her delusions finally brings her the peace of mind. Nemesis is the personification of Jill's fears and stress caused by having to face the zombies again. ![]() Barry had zero reasons to fly a helicopter over the Raccoon City. She views Barry the same way, as he protected her in Resident Evil 1. Since Carlos has protected Jill on her journey, she subconsiously projects him as a kind of "guardian angel" in her delusions. Then, out of nowhere a helicopter - piloted by Barry - appears, picks Jill and Carlos and carries them away just before the city is hit by the nuke. In both cases he ignores the huge monster in the previous room, which is especially weird if we leave the monster alive. In five seconds Carlos has found out how to get through the broken doors, called the elevator back, got onto it and rode it. If we choose the first option, Jill dogdes the attack of the monster, convenently picks the second strongest weapon from the ground (which doesn't appear until you decide to fight the monster) and defeats him.įive seconds after she gets out of it Carlos arrives through the exact same way. Jill uses the laser to defeat the boss, however the Nemesis is still alive. The door that she went through are destroyed and can no longer be used and the only way out of the room is through the elevator that Jill uses to get out of here. Later on, during the final fight with Nemesis Jill is trapped in a room. If we choose the second option, then - despite the fact that Nemesis is smart enough to chase you through multiple rooms - you deliver the antidote to Jill, she gets up after the minute and is ready to kick Nemesis' ass and roam the city like nothing happened, without any negative repercussions? I call bullshit. Run for exactly two rooms and give the antidote to Jill There are two ways that this segment could be played: On his way back Carlos encountered Nemesis. ![]() At this point in Resident Evil universe there are at least few different viruses and parasites that Umbrella has created. but what virus exactly? The game simply does not state this and neither Carlos nor Jill have the specialistic knowlegde about viruses that Umbrella creates. Furthermore, he's a mercenary, not a biologist or chemist, therefore I think he wouldn't be able to make the cure anyway.ĭespite that Carlos heads to a hospital in search of the cure for the virus. Knowing his occupation, is it really beyond him to leave behind a woman he met not even 24 hours ago? It would seem rational to abandon her, since the environment is extremely hostile, death is behind every corner, resources are scarce and the cure might not as well exist. What was Carlos' motivation for rescuing Jill? Would he truly risk his life for her? Sure, he's a nice guy, however would he risk his life searching for a cure in a city full of deadly zombies and monsters? Let's not forget that he's a mercenary, someone who is willing to kill for money. Why?īecuase it's all in Jill head, she's hallucinating due to virus and none of the events since the player takes the control of the Carlos actually happen. After that the player takes control of Carlos and here's where the game becomes weird. After the fight she loses consciousness and Carlos carries her to the chapel. Before the fight (in the cutscene) Nemesis pierces Jill with one of her tentacles and she get the "Virus" status (visible in the Inventory menu), as opposed to regular Fine/Caution/Danger statuses representing her HP. Close this window if you don't want to read them.Īfter Jill rings the bell in the Clock Tower she has to fight the Nemesis because he destroys the helicopter that was supposed to get her out of the Raccoon City. ![]() This post (obviously) contains spoilers for Resident Evil 3. ![]()
